The Story of Shakespeare in Three Objects

Lucy Jago’s debut adult novel, A Net For Small Fishes, received universal critical acclaim on publication in 2021 and is currently in development as a film. Described as the Thelma and Louise of the 17th century, it uniquely looks at one of the most consequential scandals of Shakespeare’s day from the perspective of its female perpetrators. Her first book, The Northern Lights, won the National Biography prize and has been translated into eight languages. She has also written a YA novel, Montacute House, set in the reign of Elizabeth I and is currently writing her next novel for Bloomsbury. In 2023 Lucy featured in the BBC's Rise of a Genius with Dame Judi Dench, to celebrate the 400th anniversary of Shakespeare's First Folio. Lucy is a Fellow of the Royal Literary Society and lives in Bruton.
